The Little Red Hen Theatre wants you to do a little murder with us! We are planning a murder mystery that will be performed in Wakefield, Neligh, and at God’s Country Barn in Center, Nebraska. These are fundraising events for the theatre – and a heck of a lot of fun to put together and perform. Over five rehearsals we will work together to create a loosely scripted performance structure that relies upon your creativity and improvisation skills. No need to stress about learning your lines – all you do is create a character and play!

A playful new adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved novel has a fresh female voice and follows the fortunes (and misfortunes) of the Dashwood sisters. Their lives are turned upside down when their father passes away suddenly, leaving them penniless and with reputations at stake. Together they must learn to mix sense with sensibility to find happiness in a society where love is ruled by money. Set in gossipy late 18th-century England, with a fresh female voice, the play is full of humor, emotional depth, and bold theatricality. SENSE AND SENSIBILITY examines our reactions, both reasonable and ridiculous, to societal pressures. When reputation is everything, how do you follow your heart?
